Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 oz (45 ml) Tequila
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Triple sec or orange liqueur
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Simple syrup
  • 4-6 oz (120-180 ml) Light beer (Mexican lager works well)
  • Lime wedge or wheel for garnish
  • Salt (optional) for rimming the glass
  • Ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • If desired, rim a highball glass with salt by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it in salt.
  • Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • In a shaker, combine tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, triple sec or orange liqueur, and simple syrup.
  • Shake the ingredients with ice to chill the mixture.
  • Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass filled with ice.
  • Top off the drink with light beer. Stir gently to combine.
